When a page on your site does not load, an error message shall be displayed to the website visitor. As there are different errors, there are different pages that'll appear, but what is standard for all of them is that they're generic and in all probability shall have nothing that is similar to the design of your website, which may be aggravating for any website visitor. That is the primary reason why web hosting service providers have introduced a feature referred to as Custom Error Pages. For a number of different errors, website visitors will see your unique content, which could be informative or humorous, in accordance with your personal preference, and which shall match the style and design of your Internet site, so the pages will not look like they aren't part of your website at all. You can use this option for a number of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).

Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting

The custom error pages function is offered with each cloud hosting plan we offer and you will be able to swap the generic pages with your own with no more than a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You will have to produce the actual files and to upload them to your account, then to set them for a given domain or subdomain using the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel. You could do this for each web site hosted inside the account individually, so that every set of customized pages will have the very same style and design as the site it is part of. If needed, you may always return back to a default page from our system or to the default Apache server page. An alternate way to set custom error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain/subdomain root folder and to include a few lines in it. If you have never done this before, you may simply copy the necessary program code from our Help article about the subject.

Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Hosting

All of the semi-dedicated hosting services that we provide support customized error pages and it shall not take more than a few clicks in your Hepsia web hosting Control Panel to use this feature. The option can be found in the Hosted Domains section of your CP in which you'll need to type in the links to the custom-made files via simple drop-down menus and a user-friendly interface. Of course, you must upload them in your account before that. In case you don't want to employ this feature at some point, you will be able to disable it just as fast and select an Apache server page or a default page from our system to be viewable if your visitors encounter an error. If you prefer, you could also use an .htaccess file to permit the custom made error pages. The file should contain a particular line of code and a link for each error type and you can find an example of the entire content for all four error types in our Help section.
